Courtney Love lived a block from the Los Angeles apartment the band used while recording their second album, Nevermind. Love stopped by often, saying, "We bonded over pharmaceuticals." They met again in May 1991 at a Butthole Surfers concert. In November 1991, touring Europe at the same time, they became a couple.
